I have one adult friend who I grew up with and is a (mostly) practicing Adventist. We still hang out sometimes, since we have pretty similar secular interest. We don't talk about religion, but my friend is anything but a fundamentalist and I think he would accept and appreciate my (lack of) beliefs.
Do you keep in touch with your childhood Adventist friends? How does that go?

Re: Adult adventist friends
Tue, December 5, 2006 - 2:10 PMHi,
Its great that you can still hang out with your friend. I still have one friend who I talk to on occasion but most of my other childhood friends have sorta divorced me. Over the years I've been told a variety of things from: "hanging out with you pulls me away from God because you're not adventist" to "i need to spend less time with people who don't believe as I do". It's kinda painful considering you hope that your friends would be able to see friendship and not just religion but that's the way it goes I guess.
